Trash-Life
As a play on still-life art, the trash-life series is a contemporary play on aesthetically arranged scenes using trash and discarded objects. Glorifying trash in this work is an ironic interpretation of humankind. It is consumption critique. Life and death as a motif in traditional still-life art is contrasted by the slow decaying process of trash and its effect on the environment. I'm painting trash-life scenes exactly as I find them, not making any changes.
